The literary world was set ablaze when author Rebecca Yarros introduced Fourth Wing, the romantasy novel that captured readers’ hearts everywhere. As the first installment in Yarros’ Empyrean series—followed by Iron Flame and Onyx Storm, with books four and five still on the way—Fourth Wing quickly became a sensation. Now, the hit series is set to reach even greater heights with a television adaptation in the works at Prime Video.
From Page to Screen: Fourth Wing Is Becoming a Series
Given Netflix’s reputation for abruptly canceling even the most beloved fantasy shows, it’s a relief that Fourth Wing is being developed for Prime Video instead. The adaptation is produced by Amazon MGM and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society, with Rebecca Yarros, the author behind the series, also serving as a co-producer. At the helm as showrunner is Moira Walley-Beckett, known for her exceptional work on Anne with an E, the acclaimed adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s 1908 classic Anne of Green Gables. With such a talented team involved, there’s every reason to believe that Yarros’ beloved novel will be transformed into a captivating TV series.
Potential Cast of Fourth Wing

The role of Violet Sorrengail is undoubtedly the most crucial, closely followed by the role of Xaden Riorson. Many fans are eager to see Mackenzie Foy take on the fierce dragon rider’s character. You might recognize Foy from her role as Renesmee, the daughter of Bella and Edward, in the Twilight saga, or as Clara in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. With a similar build to Violet’s and the ability to embody the strength of a warrior, she’s a natural contender. Another popular choice is Danielle Rose Russell from The Originals, whose fair complexion and darker hair closely match Violet’s description, making her a strong candidate as well.
Among the exciting potential cast for this adult fantasy filled with steamy romance are Tati Gabrielle (The 100) as Rhiannon Matthias; Oscar-winning Olivia Colman (The Favourite) as General Lilith Sorrengail; Jocelyn Hudson (Chicago Fire) as Mira Sorrengail; and Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things) as Dain Aetos. While the final cast of the Fourth Wing adaptation remains a mystery, fans clearly have some inspired suggestions.
