ACOTAR 6 Is On Its Way — Here’s Everything We Know So Far

The world has changed dramatically since the last A Court of Thorns and Roses book hit the shelves four years ago. A different president sat in office, a different pope led the Vatican, and a Hulu adaptation of the series was supposedly in the works. A Court of Silver Flames arrived in what now feels like an entirely different era.

Today, with a new cultural landscape and no confirmed TV series in sight, fans are left wondering: When will Sarah J. Maas release ACOTAR 6? And could the next installment reignite Hollywood’s interest—delivering not just another epic fantasy, but Maas’s biggest twist yet?

Here’s What Sarah J. Maas Has Revealed So Far

Sarah J. Maas has been quietly working on the sixth A Court of Thorns and Roses book since 2023—before even releasing her latest novel, House of Flame and Shadow, in early 2024. During the promotional tour for that Crescent City installment, she shared with the Today show that she’s “very, very excited” about the next ACOTAR entry.

Her most recent update came via Spotify in December, when she was named the top author on 2024’s Spotify Wrapped. In a video message to fans, Maas kept things mysterious: “I’m not gonna tell you guys anything,” she teased. “No surprise, it’s going to be a long book. It’s too early for me to tell you who it will be about or what’s going to happen, but I hope to have more details for you soon.”

How soon? Not soon enough.

While she skipped an official update for the 10th anniversary of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Maas did leave fans a subtle gift: an autograph featuring a quote from Feyre—a quiet Easter egg that may hint at what’s to come.

But What’s Going On With the ACOTAR TV Adaptation?

Over Valentine’s Day weekend, Hulu officially confirmed that the ACOTAR series is no longer in development. Sarah J. Maas now plans to revisit the project in summer 2025—once her contract with the streamer expires and she’s free to explore other options.
